Plant Labels - Coach's News

Be sure to label all of your new plantings. I know, I know, the squirrels love to pull the tags and move them in the landscape. Still, you have a better chance of remembering what you have planted, even if you just find the daffodil tag in the middle of the heucheras.

If you use plastic ‘in the ground’ labels, mark them with a pencil instead of a pen. Pencil tags last far longer than ink tags, even longer than so-called permanent markers.

If you do have squirrels that like to play in your garden, consider using tie on tags, at least on your shrubs and trees. An elegant addition would be the copper tags available at Park’s Landscapes. They have stakes that are 10 inches long. That might be longer than the squirrels in your yard and since the stakes are not supposed to bend, a squirrel would be hard-pressed to pull one out.
